Rescinded Red

Oh the media monkeys and their junket junkies will invite you to their plastic pantomime. Throw their invites away.

Like a perfectly executed Guiness after a round of Bud Limes, club football has returned, following the long international break.

Arsenal 3 – Everton 1: The Gunners shook off the post-international rust in the second-half, erasing their one-goal deficit with three.  Arsenal’s best defense might be a foot on the gas petal, emphasized by Walcott’s introduction.  Everton clammed against a big opponent again.  One wonders how much of that stems from Moyes.

Manchester United 4 – West Brom 0: Wayne Rooney’s wonderful form continued as he scored a goal, created two and had one disallowed, as Man U ran crazy in the second half.  After a sticky star, United are rolling.  Imagine how good they will be with Ronaldo at his best.

Liverpool 3 – Wigan 2: Signing of the season Amr Zaki scored two more, but it was Liverpool buoyed by a deuce from Dirk Kuyt who won.  Not the greatest Anfield performance for the Reds, but the kind of win Liverpool need to compete for the title.

Middlesbrough 0 – Chelsea 5: Middlesbrough normally hit or miss.  Today, they missed badly against an injured Chelsea XI, who had normal subs like Kalou and Belletti cruising.  Boro were not competing by the end, just staving off further embarassment.

Bolton 0 – Blackburn 0, Aston Villa 0 – Portsmouth 0. Fulham 0 – Sunderland 0: Yawn.
